  • Tap on Software Update
  • Tap on “Download and Install
  • Make a sandwich (depending on your Wi-Fi connection the download could take awhile)

Alright now that you’ve updated your device let’s get down to what new features you have at your fingertips.

Night Shift, easier on the eyes

Let’s face it people, your phone is what’s robbing you of sleep, but that’s not stopping us from falling asleep next to it every night. In comes Night Shift mode, a setting that changes the color of your phone screen from blinding white to softer or “warmer” orange, red, and yellow.

Apple suggests that since these colors are easier on the eyes it will help you naturally fall sleep. You can manually adjust the color temperature (cooler or warmer) and schedule a time (from night until sunrise) to enable this feature.

Oh yeah there is a News app

Apple’s built in News app was a move to give it’s users a all in way option to customize and view the news personalized to their tastes. In iOS 9.3 they’re going a step forward and tailoring stories and topics to your interests. They’ve also updated the performance to load news articles much faster.

Dear Notes app….

The Notes app gets another update in the form added security. You can now set a password or use TouchId to access your Notes. Additional features include the ability to sort your notes by date created or title. For those that keep sensitive information such as usernames/passwords stored in the Notes app this can help keep them more secure. Take that FBI!

Bringing technology to the Classroom

iPads and other tablets have become a part of everyday life. From use in hospitals to keep updated vitals of a patient to the sidelines of football games for reading playbooks, they’ve become integral to productivity. The Classroom app brings new features to iPad to help teachers track the progress of their students and deliver assignments to them. Apple IDs specifically for education can also be managed by a school or administrator.

Everything else you can do

iOS 9.3 adds more features to it’s Health, CarPlay, and other areas of your devices. You can link third-party health apps to the native iOS app to keep progress of your workouts. Thanks to Apple Music and Maps, CarPlay now gets updated music choices and can updated drivers on near by gas stations and or food services. 3D touch for the iPhone 6 and 6s now have updated shortcuts and Hebrew, Finish, and Malay languages are now supported by Siri.

As always thank you guys for tuning in on this update, I hope it was helpful. Go crazy on that share button and I’ll see you guys in the next post!
