Small Frame, Big on Power: Apple Special Event

AppleEventMarch

Today marked the second year in a row that Apple has hosted an event centered around unveiling the next iteration of a few select products. Last year Apple unveiled the 12 inch Macbook with the “all in one” USB-C port, new features for the Apple Watch, and more. This year Apple went small and we received news (confirmation) of a successor to the flapship’s 4-inch smartphone, the iPhone 5s, in the form of the iPhone “SE” and a downsized version of the iPad Pro. The company also announced a $50 price drop for the Apple Watch line as well as a new line of watch bands for users to select from.

Move over C the SE is here!

Rumors of an updated version of Apple’s 4-inch iPhone 5s have been floating around for quite some time now. The iPhone SE is the company’s way of offering an upgraded but “affordable” entry option for it’s customers, and with all it has to offer it’s a tempting option. The iPhone SE comes pack with a 12-megapixel capable of capturing in 4K videos, a near-field communication (NFC) chip that allows use for Apple Pay. It comes with Apple’s A9 processor which means that it’s just as fast as the current iPhone 6s. The iPhone SE starts at $399 for the 16GB model and $499 for the 64GB model and will be available on March 31st.

Oh, it’s the iPad Pro but smaller….

The 12.9 inch iPad Pro was big step forward for Apple in terms of power and features. For some it has even replaced their personal computers in terms of how they work. Now we have a 9.7 inch model of iPad Pro. Like it’s companion, it can also be paired  with the pricey $149 smart keyboard and $99 smart pencil. It is clear that the introduction of this model is a move by Apple to attract more user to their tablet line. Starting at $599 consumers can get the 32GB version, for $749 the 128GB version, and at $899 the 256GB which is the largest storage option for a mobile Apple product. It will also be available on March 31st.

Apple Watch price cut and iOS 9.3 is now available

Smaller updates came in the form of a $50 price cut for Apple’s flagship smartwatch line as well as a new line of watch bands for customers to choose from. The Apple Watch is coming close to be a year old so it wouldn’t surprise me if the “Apple Watch 2” was announced in the coming months. But if you just want to get your hands on one of the more successful smartwatch options, then $299 isn’t a bad price point to start.

iOS 9.3 was also announced and made available for user’s today. New features included in the update range from “Night Shift” which changes the color of the screen so you can read and sleep better at night and security features for the Notes app.

I want to thank you guys for checking out my latest and as always share, share, share! I’ll see you guys in the next post!
