iPhone 7 Case Leak

So long headphone jack, you will be deeply missed. If you haven’t heard the rumors Apple is reported to remove the 3.5mm headphone jack in order to make the next phone even thinner.

The bottom of the phone features an opening for the Lightning port and two equal width openings for what appears to be dual speakers. That differs from current iPhone 6s/6s Plus cases as it does not include enough space for the current Apple Earpods to fit. This strengthens the rumor that Apple may provide it’s users with either Bluetooth or Lightning headphones.

The dual speakers would increase audio capabilities of the phone and headphones that connect with the standard Lightning port would offer greater sound quality. The analog 3.5mm audio jack, at best, only produces CD-quality sound. The conversion to Lightning headphones would offer a digital audio connection which would give better sound quality. Not exactly a bad thing in the long run.

Another big difference comes in the form of the phone case’s camera cut out. It’s larger than what the current phone which may suggest that we may be getting a dual camera feature. That may be reserved for the iPhone 7 Plus the same way Optical Image Stabilization was only included in the 6/6s Plus models.

So what about the rest of the phone?

Other than that the design of the phone remains largely unchanged. The power and volume buttons are still in the same place and any of the current iPhone line fits into the case.
